Paul Dewar Is Next NDP Leader

Not just because he's had a very good week, or couple of weeks. Bilingual, safe seat, handsome husband and father (NDP always looking for a patriarch to bless their hijinks), and as an Ottawan he has some QC understanding without quite as much craven Lefty need to get approval of QC chattering classes. Some say he's a bit of a "Justin Layton", loving his hair a bit too much and also a bit too inclined to Jack's type of empty diva grandstanding. But he's still his mother's son, and she was well hard, smart, serious and canny, and watching him these last weeks, it seems as though he's growing out of his Jackitude and becoming more of a statesman. I don't know how much longer Jack's got, but as country's political health is influenced by quality of leadership of all parties, the sooner Dewar takes over, the better, for all of us. Any votes Libs, Greens and others would lose to him are more than compensated by possibility of NDP actually getting a decent responsible leader again, in my view. I'd wonder if anyone knows what Dewar has said about carbon taxes when still allowed to speak freely, maybe in debates with Chernushenko? That's sort of litmus test for whether a serious social-democrat or not.
