Lucien Bouchard Is A Privy Councillor

And Serge Ménard was QC Attorney General in the toughest years, fighting organised crime, smuggling, dealing with Mohawks & reforming SQ. And Daniel Paillé was trusted enough by Cons to do report on Govt advertising. And those three are off top of my head, there are many trustworthy separatists, as regard state secrets. Just because folk want QC independence doesn't mean they're some sort of Al-Qaida-Taliban demons, aiming for the destruction of Western civilisation, that's laughable. And the responsibilities they've held, and been given by Cons & Libs, proves it. MPs are trusted every day with secrets during in camera sessions: what's the proportion of leaks to number of in camera sittings & members? Less than 0.00001%, at a rough guess. So there is absolutely no basis, zero, nada, none, for security arguments BS. If the Govt hadn't shut down MPCC, hadn't refused public inquiry, hadn't censored documents and intimidated witnesses, and outright lied, inside and outside parliament, again and again, we wouldn't be here. I would reiterate, as I have done from beginning, as every fair observer has done, that the Cons would be best off, and Canada certainly would, if they would just do the right thing and let the MPCC do its job, and now, having shut it down, have an inquiry. The harm they will do themselves and Confederation if they persist in this folly is incalculable. What are a couple of political careers against the long-term viability of the Con brand and, most importantly, the good of Canada? But if they indeed pursue the path of authoritarianism, which I still don't believe they will, then all democrats must stand up for democracy and do what needs to be done to defend our democracy. At the end of the day, one must ask oneself whether one is a democrat or authoritarian, pick a side, and stand up for it. Parliamentary supremacy and democracy is not to be compromised.
