GAZA - The Zayton neighborhood in Gaza City has been under constant missile shelling since the Israeli invasion began on Saturday. According to ICRC, until Wednesday, the Israelis prevented Ambulances and rescue vans to enter the area hit by heavy bombardment. When the International Red Cross finally got access to the area, the rescue crews discovered the most shocking scenery, 4 small children were lying there next to their dead mothers, starving. ICRC also found a man alive among at least 12 corpses lying there on mattresses.

"The Israeli army have failed to fulfill its obligations to protect civilians in war, this is a shocking incident," - the ICRC's head of delegation for Israel, and the Occupied Palestinian Territories" Pierre Wettach said; - " the Israeli military must have been aware of the situation but did not assist the many wounded - also they prevented the Palestine Red Crescent to assist the wounded."

Large walls of dirt was erected by the Israeli army around the targeted area, it made it impossible for the ambulances to reach into the wounded in the Zayton neighborhood.

The wounded, including children, had to be transferred to Al Sheefa hospital in donkey cart's  the rescue teams evacuated two slain bodies,18 wounded and other extremely traumatised people.According to ICRC, on Thursday many wounded people will be evacuated from other destroyed buildings in this heavy shelled neighborhood, where 15 other survivors were found by ICRC rescue teams including three corpses and several wounded. The Israeli military positioned nearby the building ordered the ICRC rescue teams to leave the area which they refused.

The United Nations are demanding the Israelis to provide evidence for its claims that Palestinian resistance fighters used the UNRWA school as a " Human Shield".

The spokesperson for UNRWA agency Chris Gunness said in a CNN interview on Wednesday that;:" We [ UNRWA] have nothing to hide, just bring it on. We want to see the evidence. We want to clear any suspicion."According to the UN, mortar shells from Israeli artillery exploded at the front gate of the compound, United nations has denied that armed men were in the school at the time. Some 15,000 Palestinians have tried to escape the Israeli assassination campaign in Gaza. There are no bomb shelters to be found in Gaza Strip,so UNRWA is dedicated to providing relief to the Gaza community, long before the current war campaign on Gaza..

The UNRWA school compound was targeted and hit by heavy shelling on Tuesday. In this artillery bombardment, 40 civilians were killed, 71 were wounded according to Gaza Governments Health Ministry. On Tuesday three other UNRWA schools were targeted and hit by Israeli mortar shells.
