Anti-QC Hypocrite Scumbag Pat Martin or Why Our Politics Suck

The Star, Feb 27: "She acted like a petulant child. I think she should be forced to resign because she showed such contempt for ordinary Canadians and the people of that province (Prince Edward Island) that I think she has lost the moral authority to be a minister of the Crown," said NDP MP Pat Martin (Winnipeg Centre).

The Star, July 21 NDP MP Pat Martin said at the very least Harper owes Guergis an apology “and he may well owe her an out-of-court settlement. He has not just kicked her out of cabinet but also left her political career in tatters,” Martin said Harper owes it to Canadians to tell them what “could possibly be so unforgiveable and heinous that you not only kick someone out of cabinet, you drop-kick them from the party and you effectively destroy their employability and their career.” Martin said he was astonished that the PMO is now taking the view that Guergis should be held responsible for the alleged sins of her husband. “This is an appalling double standard and I can guarantee you if this was a male (Conservative) cabinet minister and the wife was associating with some unsavory characters, that wouldn’t cost him his career. Not in a million years,” Martin said.

Cowboys for Social Responsibility - The first rule of Canadian politics : Which MP recently recently said: The first rule of Canadian politics is "You never do anything to offend anybody in Quebec ever."How upset would Jack Layton and Thomas Mulcair have been, had it been a Tory MP who framed his argument that way? And why does Pat Martin think it's OK to go on the BBC and take a cheap shot at Quebec while making an otherwise important point?

Between Martin's statements and now there was this: EFL: Why Would Mansbridge Lie?
As Peter Mansbridge as our witness, there are apparently no “diva-like moments” to be seen on the videotape of Helena Guergis passing through security at the Charlottetown airport. Ms. Guergis admits she had a less-than-pleasant conversation with the ticket agent and that she uttered the phrases “happy f—ing birthday” and “hellhole,” but insists the latter was reference only to the airport she found herself in—she’s apparently not too keen on airports—and not reference to the city of Charlottetown or the province of Prince Edward Island.

And can I just remind all these ratfuckers and tossers what I said (see comments) at the outset of this sad little story (contrary to consensus, it would seem by rating ;)
She lost it. She apologised. Bad politics for Cons to keep her in cabinet, but a bit much/harsh for Libs to call for resignation over this. If we're going to start asking for resignations over temper tantrums by elected officials, there wouldn't be many left, incl. this PM and his predecessor. They are an odd lot. They do an odd job. Most of it is pretty thankless, at best, and awful at worst. They get crazy attention and are always on trial. Maybe I'm all wet, but kinda think some human failing/humanity should be accepted, as we do amongst ourselves. If behaviour recurrent, then problem. But this tantrum doesn't have any direct connection to her portfolio, does it? Bad and bad politics. Given personal stresses, maybe best for all if she was dropped for a while. But shouldn't ask for it. If Cons don't do it, let them pay price. But who among us hasn't lost it and felt ashamed? Just lucky fewer witnesses/cameras etc. and without notoriety. Anyway, watching !!!!Pat Martin!!! !!!Wayne Easter!!! et.al. get all high and mighty is a bit much.
