Why are Israeli leaders avoiding a confrontation with IAEA

Wednesday, 25 August 2010 16:30

PalestineFreeVoice - It is understood that the Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu,
the Defence Minister Ehud Barak and Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman will not meet with the IAEA chief, Yukiya Amano. However, Mr Amano will meet in Tel Aviv with  Shimon Peres, as well as two close aides of Mr. Netanyahu, Moshe Ya'alon and Dan Meridor, in his first visit to Israel since admitting to his office last September.

Mr Amano intend to hold a series of meetings to discuss the issue of Iran's nuclear programme and Tel Aviv's alleged fear about it, with senior Israeli officials, including some members of the Israeli Atomic Energy Commission.

However,it is not clear whether the IAEA chief will discuss the Israelis own nuclear power plant and the content of it's large weapon stockpile.

Israel, unlike other nuclear powers, including Iran, is not a signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty, which means that the Israeli nuclear reactor Dimona and other nuclear facilities, is not subject to IAEA control, which the Iranian facilities are.

One can only guess why these Zionist warlords do not want to be confronted face to face with IAEA.The Israelis have never been honest and open about their own nuclear programme, while demanding that that others must be, or else they, the Israelis, will attack them.

The Israeli nuclear facilities can have produced enough plutonium for at least 200 nuclear weapons.Probably underestimated, there may be approximately 250 Israeli nuclear weapons by the end of  2010.
