Speaking of good faith, if Matas really wrote what Star reports, then he should have smarts and decency to resign from any and all organisations with which he is affiliated and wishes to protect, as he now appears a completely toxic character, and his continued participation in any group's activities would be very harmful to them. I mean, saying it, off-hand, could be understandable carelessness, and could be apologised for, but writing it? I don't see that any apology, under the circumstances, would be sufficient. My advice would be to put the collective welfare of groups and organisations with which he is affiliated above his own pride, and resign from all of them. He could always return in a year or two. But after writing this, if true, then his affiliation is doing them more harm than good.
Star: In his analysis, board member David Matas even suggests that Beauregard went to bed the night he died with a heavy heart.
"A good faith explanation of his behaviour means that Beauregard went to bed the night he died with the realization that those three grants, which he had spent so much time and effort defending ... were wrongly made," Matas, former lead counsel for B'nai Brith Canada, wrote Jan. 11.
