5:30 Kady: And here's Ralph Goodale, scrumming in the Foyer, who says that there's another discussion planned for tomorrow, which is important "to keep the sense of momentum going." Nothing is settled until everything is settled, he cautions, but they've agreed to meet again, which seems to be a good sign, as far as he's concerned. He won't say whether the issues that remain outstanding are major or minor -- "I wouldn't characterize anything having to do with this issue as trivial". As for the document that Jay Hill brought to the meeting, he describes it as 'an ever changing piece of paper' - it's not done yet, but it's 'better than the one' he had when this started. And that's it for Goodale, who is whisked away - literally - by an aide, ceding the floor to LeBlanc, who describes the progress as "modest". (That's my translation, that is.) He remains optimistic, but frustrated. No sign of anyone from the NDP, Bloc or government negotiating teams, by the way, although I think two of the three may be headed back to their respective leaders' offices to check in.
5:33 Kady: It remains an important question, compromise is important, and depending on what is in the text tomorrow -- well, they'll know more then. Yeah, that was oddly unsatisfying, but think of it as a cliffhanger.

Obviously. "Compromise is important"?! What. Is. Left. To. Compromise?
