NDP Betrays Colvin, Opposition & All Folk Of Good Faith

Filibustering & shutting down Afghan Committee after four questions, on day facts catch up to Govt AND Committee has chance to questioning ministers, so even your own critic can't question ministers, is incompetence of the highest order. It is a betrayal of tortured Afghans & Canadian soldiers & public servants. To put your own petty, doomed, unnoticed, pointless & wrongheaded drama queen hijinks ahead of the nation's most serious public interest is despicable. Don't even try to spin as Govt's fault for invoking closure: of course they were going to and you wanted them to, that's the whole point - "Oh Oh they cut off debate, etc.". We all know this game. NDP have been on the other side in provincial government many times. To be so incompetent and so obsessed with gameplaying to the point you cut off Committee questioning of ministers on a major revelation day is beyond belief. I have praised all the Opposition on their handling of this issue, including NDP, but today the NDP really let down all the Opposition, Colvin, military, public servants and all people of good faith. Disgusting. Who "coordinated" this, Davies, Layton's office, Layton himself, who? Speaking of accountability, there should be some for and among the NDP. Unless of course Layton is feeling so threatened by Dewar he doesn't want him getting the limelight and wanted to prevent Dewar's primetime questioning of ministers. If I were Dewar & Harris, I'd be spitting mad. Ridiculous. And now the Committee is on break for six weeks! So we can't bring ministers back for six weeks! And the ministers were clearly unsettled by Natynczyk's morning statement and off their game: today was the ideal day for lengthy detailed questioning. But the NDP were so obsessed with their vapid pointscoring they played into Govt hands, pulled "fire bell" and gave Govt six weeks to try to bury story and fix the facts.

I am furious with NDP. There are some good serious members, like Comartin, Dewar & Harris, but the vast majority are vapid Layton Drama Queens, like Martin, Davies, Mulcair & Wasylycia-Leis. Can you imagine a Blaikie-led NDP behaving this incompetently/badly? Or any NDP caucus before Layton? This Layton NDP really is a disgrace. I'd hate to think young Canadians might grow up believing they are representative of social-democrats. They are not. What a bunch of incompetent, petty tossers. Their own hijinks, which were obviously doomed to failure, which was the point, on the wrong side of an issue (go check European social democrat view of value added taxes, their proper rates and administration), were more important to them than questioning the ministers responsible for Canada's complicity in torture?! It's pretty incredible to realise the NDP have given the Liberal OLO an out on Iggy & torture: whatever Iggy wrote while Opposition Leader, the LPC played torture responsibly and properly, and the NDP saw it as less important than their self-obsessed, self-indulgent voguing. Only the Layton NDP could find a way to make the NDP less credible on torture question than Iggy-led LPC. Incompetent, self-defeating tools.
